Spirometry Service

The Confederation Spirometry Service has been developed to ensure that local residents have access to a diagnostic spirometry service. Patients are referred via their GP practice if they have suspected COPD or asthma where they do not have a previous diagnosis.

Spirometry

Spirometry Eligibility Criteria:

  • Must be registered with a Hillingdon GP practiceAll patients must be 16 years or over with suspected COPD or asthma
  • Have not previously been diagnosed with COPD or asthma.

The patient has one of the following:

  • Patients presenting with undiagnosed respiratory symptoms Breathlessness, wheeze or cough

  • Patients with suspected COPD particularly with a smoking history and increasing age, chronic cough, breathlessness on exertion, daily wheezing or history of recurrent winter ‘chest infections’
